The simple NH divorce process

1. Make sure the case is simple.

Both spouses want the divorce, no minor children together, and no fight over property, debts, money, or alimony.

2. Start the case.

The simple joint path starts with the Joint Petition for Divorce and Personal Data Sheet.

3. File and pay the state filing fee.

A joint petition avoids the normal service process used when one spouse files against the other.

4. Exchange required financial information.

New Hampshire requires financial disclosure. Each spouse also completes a Financial Affidavit.

5. Finish the final paperwork.

That includes the Financial Affidavits, Vital Statistics information, and Final Decree.

6. Court review.

If everything is agreed and complete, the court may be able to issue the decree without another appearance.
